Good healthcare should reach everyone, especially those who need it most. That’s exactly what happened during the Nigerian Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP) Annual General Meeting in Bayelsa. The doctors didn’t just meet to talk – they took real action to help people living with disabilities.
Here’s how they made a difference in just two days.
Day 1: Listening and Learning (April 22, 2025)
The NAGGMDP team, led by their Chairman Dr. Akpesiri Pearl Evberin, sat down with leaders from the Joint Association of People with Disabilities. They had important discussions about how to make healthcare better and more accessible for people with disabilities in Bayelsa.
This wasn’t just a polite visit – it was a serious conversation about finding real solutions to healthcare challenges.
Day 2: Hands-On Help (April 23, 2025)
On the second day, the medical team put their words into action. They set up a free medical camp specially for people with disabilities, offering:
- Full health check-ups and treatment
- Eye tests and vision care
- Dental examinations and care
- TB screening with instant X-ray results
People came and received quality medical attention, some getting care they hadn’t been able to access before.
The team proved that when people truly want to help, nothing can stop them.
